CTD on leaving Castle Dour after killing General Tullius

So I killed General Tullius and tried to exit Castle Dour. Solitude shows for about half a second, then it crashes to the desktop. I tried exiting through different exits, but that didn't work either.

My PC specs are as follows:

  • Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
  • AMD fx-6300 6-core 3.5GHz
  • 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM
  • AMD HD Radeon 7870 2GB VRAM

I do have quite a large amount of mods, which run pretty stable. I run the ReProccer and LOOT every time I install a mod. I don't think I have any mods that actually affect solitude apart from Signs of Skyrim, some texture mods, ELFX and Birds of Skyrim.

I'm also having this issue, but I simply have a new game. I'm using alternate start and started as a soldier in the legion, it crashes when I leave. I've tried stealing the skull on the table, game crashes when I'm arrested.

disable Enhanced Lights and FX first

then try disabling birds of skyrim

then try disabling the texture mods

your graphic card is very old you should use cleanmem and enb and keep skyrim graphic settings on medium

try finding a mod that prevents you being arrested to see if that bypasses the crash

or a console command that makes npc's ignore you to see if it bypasses the crash
