Companion Help

I'm using RR Companions Vault to make a companion, but I can't figure out how to give them a gun and not need ammo for it. I could easily give them the ammo, but I'd rather not have to make each of my companions have several thousand rounds just to be useful. Is there any way to change this?

basically, the companions in the game have a special gun, that uses "magical companion ammo"

so i believe that if you make your companions (not in the game, like in the GECK or something like that) than you can just create a new version of the weapon you want them to have, and just make it use the same ammo as Boone's rifle (you can just check his rifle in the GECK, to find the right ammo list)

and then just give the companion the ammo (make sure it is hidden and such)

 

my best advice would be to look at how the existing companions work

let's say you choose Boone as the example, just look at which ammo his gun shoots, and how the ammo is in his inventory, and just replicate it in your companion
