Detecting video settings?

Ok i've recently installed my new gtx 470 but Fallout hasn't asked to detect new video settings and for some reason in the listed graphics adaptor drop down menu it says im running a 7900gs? Is there a way of asking it to detect my hardware manually without uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

Thanks

I had the same prob. I think it's caused by the D3D9 fix. I had to re-install, but it was worth it. Really works much better, even with my same old card.

When you say you had to re-install did you mean the whole game or the D3D9 fix? I really dont want to have to install all my mods etc again if i can help it.

I'm pretty sure if you have updated to the latest patch, the D3D9 Fix isn't required anymore. Also, the D3D9 Fix makes all Nvidia Cards display as a 7900gs, if I remember correctly, for it to work properly, but like I said, it isn't as necessary now with the latest updates.

So how do i remove the fix now its patched or did it overright the fix as if its showing as only a 7900gs is the game even using the full power of my GTX 470sc?

Well, you go into your data folder then you delete it like you would any other file. Simple as that. Should be labeled something like d3d9.dll. Next you reload the Fallout launcher, should show your GTX. Also, the game would most likely use the full power of your 470 regardless of having the fix or not, although you don't entirely seem to need it anymore due to the updates. It's more or less a point of view sort of thing. You may get better performance with it, or without.
