How can I add stuff from another model to this model?

Hey guys, I'm noob at mesh modding and I have a question. How can I add t-45d shoulder plates to the bounty hunter duster's shoulders?

Let's see: you'll need Blender to cut away the shoulders first. Once you cut it away, it's NifSkope time.

Pretty much yeah, or if you don't like Blender, you can fork out $4000+ for 3DS Autodesk.

it is for Oblivion, but it's basically the same process, just with different armors

That's only part of the job: I'm pretty sure the power armors are linked to the shoulder: he'll need to split it up using Blender.

 

@WastelandAssassin: on a sidenote, do you know how to mod? Because there are some major differences between Oblivion and FO3 NifSkoping....

well, i don't really know my way around NifSkope, though i do know the differences

but since many people have used this tutorial (and if i recall correctly, not only Oblivion users) i thought it was worth mentioning

 

i have tried my way around weapons in NifSkope (though not extensively) but not armors, so i don't really have any idea on how to work armors

 

are there any differences worth mentioning??
