fornarch
Ok...Well first off I am including pictures that will hopefully help someone to help me. And this may seem long but I am putting out as much information as I can and the question is pretty much at the end of this next paragraph. Ok...Well I have started making this quest and the way the player hears of the quest from a conversation between two NPC's. I have created the two NPC's named Britton and Kirill, there reference ID's are BrittonWyatt1 and KirillRuvinov1 and they are in the same cell...as indicated by the bottom left picture. However I can't seem to get Britton to initiate the conversation with Kirill. Instead he initializes a different conversation. I started out making the quest (look at the top right picture) and under the conversation tab I started with the ID random1. I have run immediately checked because I have a quest script. I also have Set BWquest1.Britton1 to 1 in the result scripts and so and and so on for the conversation topics (I pretty sure they are right) The conditions that I have for this ID are...... yes getisid KirillRuvinov ==1 no getquestvariable quest BWquest1, Britton1 ==1 no getisrace argonian, Breton, Dark Elf, Wood Elf, Dremora, High Elf, Imperial, Khajiit, Orc, Redguard, and vampire race ==0 Britton and Kirill are Nord's no getdistance Reference 'PlayerRef < 1000 no getisid BrittonWyatt ==1 I do not believe that any of these conflict with Britton Now moving on to the script for the quest (top left picture). Pretty straight forward if you look at the picture. I have my two variables and thats about it. For now anyway. I dont know if I would have to add something there to make it work or not? And lastly (bottom right picture) this is the part where Im thinking I have to tie in Britton to the script. But I dont know how or what else I would have to add to make it work. So this is why I said I might need a scripter. O...and basicly if you havent figured it out yet my question is what do I do to get Britton to start the conversation/quest.......Thanks for the help and sorry for this long thing I was just thinking it might help to say everything I can think of... Abramul
You might try looking at the 'Unfriendly Competition' quest, which includes a player-proximity triggered convesation between Thoronir and Agarmir.
fornarch
You might try looking at the 'Unfriendly Competition' quest, which includes a player-proximity triggered convesation between Thoronir and Agarmir. ok thanks!! I was hoping someone might know of a quest that does what Im trying to do. I couldnt find one... I ended up figuring out why it wasnt working. It was because the file was corrupt or something and whenever I made a quest in that one and then clicked on view filtered dialogue it wouldnt show up under my characters dialogue that it could speak. So I just deleted that one and started over from scratch on a new one and it worked just fine....I went through 3 days of hell all because of a corrupted file........But now I can finally start the actual quest...."A String of Robberies" (still working on the name) based on what a character says in the original Morrowind (according to a friend). Hopefully someone hasnt already done it..Expect the 1st version out within a month!! Thanks for everyone's help who gave it! I may be asking for more in the future PS...In fact I have one right now.....In the game for some reason I get the message box about the quest before the characters even speak. And then when they do speak the text goes really fast accross the screen. I think this is because of sound and something else I cant remember where I read about this happening...Can anyone help me with this...? thanks.
