jetsman5ian
Long story short: I need a new computer, preferrably a desktop but if you can wow me with a laptop I will consider it My goals: keep it as cheap as possible without building it myself (not enough time or experience) be able to play games such as fallout 3/nv with many mods runningkeep the machine quiet, needs to have a wireless cardwant to minimize pre-installed software that is impossible to removedon't need a crazy amount of hd space My budget: under $1,000.00, but the cheaper the better, I already have a mouse, keyboard and monitor so just worry about the build Misc: I use my 720p sony hdtv for my monitor so keep that in mind, I need the build to be solid and reliable as I have had problems with builds in the past I love you guys so please help me. I'll e-mail you a brownie. . . .
Erik005
You should find a good local computer store and have them build a good computer for you. The problem with standard computers from dell/hp/etc. is that they might have a good processor/graphics-card, but they always have a low grade power supply an motherboard. So my advise is to find a local computer store and have them build a PC for you. Some tips about the components and current trends. Ask for a decent a-grade powersupply, Antec, Coolermaster, Corsair and OCZ are good brands. 600W should be fine for you. As processor a intel i5-760 or i7-870 should be sufficient. Graphics card AMD Radeon HD6870. Hope this helps you.
AWarGuy
I agree with Erik, but stay away from Dual-cores as they are slowly starting to become obsolete, you would want a nice setup that can be easily upgraded.
Erik005
Just one more tip. In January Intel will launch the new line of processors, so the i5 and i7 I mentioned in my previous post will drop in price.
