SkromStonehammer
Hey everyone, I'm absolutely brand new to this other than modifying and building things in construction kits. My fiancee is absolutely in love with Skyrim and I've been a fan of ES games ever since Arena. I was planning on making her something grand. New magics, armors, weapons, quests, lands, etc. My problem thus far is altering affects such as coloration on magic, shape effects of magic (such as three cones to a flame spell), and shape and texture alterations of armor and weapons. What programs do you guys recommend me downloading, what files to look through, how to change colors, and everything else I may need? Thanks for the help! mitchellkrever
Hey I'm not sure exactly how adept you are in the modding scene. Also I don't know what kind of graphics card you have. But I would reccomend following STEP to learn the basics: http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9With STEP if you do not want to install the whole thing thats fine just work up to 2.D. Fixes: Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.Following the guide up to that point will teach you quite a few things like the best utilties to use and how to use them (MO, LOOT, WyreBash, DDSopt, TES5Edit) as well as give you a the right foundation to have a stable Skyrim game (SKSE patch, INI settings, ENBoost, etc) Also if you are more advanced things like making, altering things in mods I would reccomend: the creation kit, 3d modeling software with .NIF import/export support, Photoshop with .dds plugin, Nifskope. There are also some other more advanced things such as zNormals, zBrush, etc. I myself have STEP extended 2.2.9.1 with WAO + Requeim + 20 of the most popular mods with Requiem Patchs + I 3d scanned my face and created myself as a playable charchter in skyrim. There are a lot of things I could reccomend but I would need to know your experience in modding and your gpu/cpu to give you more specific advice
