ReDragon1976
Hi all, can someone please explain to me how to rename containers so that multiple of the same sort of container each have different names? For example in my house mod that I just made, I was after a 'bar fridge', 'meat fridge' and 'meals fridge' I'm a lot of a computer illiterate, but I can follow directions fairly well. Thanks in advance for any help.
WastelandAssassin
well, i'm not really sure it is such an easy thing to dobasically, you can find all the containers in the GECK, under World Objects -> Containeryou need to find the container that you want, right click on it, and choose Editthen all you need to do is change the item name the thing is, there are plenty of these containers in the game, so you won't change just the ones in the houseunless the containers in the house are unique containers added by the house mod (meaning that they have a different ID then the regular containers, and are only used in that house mod) if you are making your own house mod, just make new containers, and name them whatever you want hope this helps :)
ReDragon1976
It is for my house mod, I have 3 fridges, like I said in the first post, but when I rename one, it renames all of them, how do I get around this and make each fridge in my house uniquely named? WastelandAssassin
just like i said, you need to make each of them uniquemeaning that each of them must be a new object in the GECK, (each must have a different base ID in the GECK)basically, if the fridges you made are already unique (meaning that they aren't used anywhere else in the game) then all you need to do is create a unique version for each of them (edit the fridge, and give it the new name, and more importantly, the new ID that you want it to have, then when asked if you want to create a new object, click yes) then all you have to do is remove the fridges from your house mod, and put the new ones that you have created and this is it :)
ReDragon1976
ahh so the base id can be changed? If that is the case then that makes a lot of sense, kinda like when you create a new NPC follower. Thanks heaps for that Wasteland Assassin
