Hey guys, I think i've only ever really posted one thing on these forums before so this is more or less my first aloha. so... yo.

Anyway, I'm just getting in to modding and am trying to do something simple, create a modified version of the armor and weapons from the skyrim trailer (IE steel sword, studded armor, etc.)

From here on i'll use the sword as my example but I think i'm getting the problem with all modified equipment. Anyway using the creation kit I created a new sword using the steel sword, but edited the damage to be a bit higher than the damage for the daedric sword (IE daedric is listed at 14, my steel sword, the sword of dovahkiin, is listed at 16) however when I go in game to test it, the damage is still far below that of a daedric sword (i .additem'd both a daedric sword and the sword of dovahkiin to compare damage, and the sword of dovahkiin was dealing 18, just one above a regular steel sword, whereas the daedric sword was dealing 31).

Now like I said, I'm quite new to this and there are probably a million things I don't know or fail to understand. Do the swords have different scaling dependent on their material type? could it be PerMa (which I have installed due to it being awesome) causing it? Could Beelzebub just really enjoy messing with me? All three? Who knows, you decide. (bad joke ahoy!)

Anyway, really hoping someone knows what i'm doing wrong and can kindly tell me how stupid i'm being and point me in the right direction. Thanks guys!

EDIT:

Well I tried loading up the game without PerMa loaded and found that the damage was as it was supposed to be compared to the daedric sword, so it's definitely PerMa that's causing the huge weapon power difference. Now if only I could figure out how to fix that..

EDIT X2:

Well, managed to figure it out by screwing around some more with PerMa's XML files. My mod is working as intended now, sorry to waste everyones time. My bad!
