BlaCkBlitZ
Has anyone attempted this in new vegas before? It was much easier in Fallout 3 where they had a single Battle folder that played mp3s when you were in combat, now they have subfolders of evil 1 2 or 3, which I'm confused about. So I was wondering if anyone could give advice on how to modify in-game battle music. I have my own list and to be honest, the vanilla soundtracks aren't my style... Lingwei
I haven't tested this so it isn't 100% guaranteed, but the easiest way is just to place your mp3s in the folder and rename them with the name of the current mp3 song (and then rename the original to something else). Make sure you don't lose the filename - write it in a text document or something. That way when the game plays the tracks it should play the 'same track' but it will be your music instead of the original.
BlaCkBlitZ
So it doesn't work the same way with Fallout 3 and Oblivion anymore? In those games, you can add any amount of mp3s without renaming, and the game will just randomly play out one. Which is just simplicity and genius combined together if you ask me, well in the sense of modifying in-game soundtracks.
Skree000
replace the music as you see fit just drop it in whatever music subfolder you want and it will play it at appropriate times. The ONLY limitation is with combat music, each track must be EXACTLY the same length as the existing combat tracks, for it to mix properly modern combat music usually has beginnings and ending tracks tacked on that mix with the music, additionally if your track is too long or too short it will cause the game to lag out horribly.3:45 duration combat song must be replaced by a 3:45 song. (havent tried to match length before, but i did try replacing the combat music and i put in all kinds of songs of various lengths to test it, and it lagged out pretty bad, so that might be true that they have to match the length?) Camster8o8
Just checking in to see if anyone has gotten a confirmation, I want to change all my battle and final dam battles to Stan Bush and I want to make sure it just makes my game 1000000x more badass and not destroy my audio.
