Creation Kit Help!

I need help with manipulating a helmet. I downloaded a follower mod and I have wet and cold installed. So whenever I go into a cold region she puts on the hood. My problem is that she looks bald with the hood on and it is kind of annoying. The follower uses the SG hairs mod. I tried making a new hood that has the hair under it, but it became too frustrating. So now i'm trying to just make a new hat that is just her hair. When I put it in with the correct meshes and textures when I load up the game the hat is invisible. (she's now completely bald...great *sarcasm) So I go back into the creation kit and and check, the mesh is there but there isn't a texture. So i boot up nifscope it shows the texture right when I open the mesh. Is there a step i'm missing? What am I doing wrong?

Ohhh I see the miss communication. Wet and cold automatically puts a hood on any npc in a cold region. the hair that she has would disappear when she puts the hood on to avoid clipping issues. I want to make a helmet that replaces her hair, with her hair. I want to do this because Wet and Cold cant replace a helmet. It can only add one if the npc isn't wearing one. this is why I am making a helmet, that is actually just her hair. Does this make any sense?

Hmm.. let me get this straight. You want to make a wig (her hair) that can be equipped like a helmet?

If so, why not just duplicate a helmet and point it's world model to the hair nif in question.

I dont know if you figured it out or not. Check if SG hair plugin has the hair set to a particular texture set. If not, in the block list go to the NiTriShape and expand, expand BSShaderLightningProperty as well and click on BSShaderTextureSet. In the in the block details, click on each and every texture string entry and do the following:
How it now looks like:
c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data\textures\sghairs\hairbfly41.dds
How it should look like:

textures\sghairs\hairbfly41.dds

Delete:

c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data\

Tho, im pretty sure it uses a texture set within the plugin, because in the .nif file, there is no difuse, normal and other speculars and material texutres set.
Hope it helps. If you still cant find out, ill check it out and instruct you in more detail how to get the textures.

I have created my male character who I would like to be a follower in my game using some mods: Enhanced Character Edit, Better Males, True Eyes, Eyes of Beauty and ApachiiSkyHair. I have exported him using the command 'spf [name]'.

When I import him into the creation kit, nothing changes, yes, I have updated the preview but his face stays exactly the same. I can imagine this would be the same if I tried making a female follower since I have CBBE and SG Female Textures. I have already attempted to make apachiiskyhair work by making changes to the SkyrimEditor.ini but it doesn't seem to do much good.

Does anyone know how to make all mods work with the creation kit?

Thanks
