Aethelheim
So I've completed the main story and downloaded FWE and a couple of other mods and am going to start a heavy roleplaying game as a wandering explorer/adventurer type and not going to go anywhere near the main storyline at all. So, I have the 5 expansions, what I want to know is... is the Wasteland full of adventure and fun OUTSIDE of the main storyline, or is it as dead as it looks? Blowing raider heads off in abandoned schools and looking at tortured/mutilated corpses on mattresses in cellars is fun, but it needs to be broken up by quests and other interaction with friendly or at least neutral people at times. WastelandAssassin
there are probably enough side quests for you to play for days, and you still probably wouldn't find them allbelieve me, the game is much more fun when you play outside of the main quest line, as the main quest line takes you to so few places, that you miss around 90% of the content in the game so go out there and start exploring!!

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. As a reward, take these 3 Squirrel on a stick, a food sanitizer, and a hand grenade.
WastelandAssassin
well, i'll tell you whatahead of you are three raiderssneak behind them, and put the grenade in one of their pants, then get awayif any of the others survive the blast, through the squirrel sticks at them, and try to hit with the pointy end and after they are dead, make sure to pass them through the sanitizerafter all, a man after a healthy meal is a healthy, happy man  believe me, you will enjoy exploring the gameand if you need to find specific things, find the FO3 Wikia, it has probably all the information that you will need (unique items, quests, places and whatever else you want)just try to role play, as if all you want is to shoot, the game will get really old, really fast
TheOriginalEvilD
I've been playing this game on and off since it came out...i've got probably 1000 or more hours playing, and i still find new things now and then. After you've played through it once, you can always be totally evil and it changes everything...or role play it and stick to a certain weapon type (try playing strictly melee or unarmed...or strictly heavy weapons etc). Personally i can't break myself away from playing the stealthy sniper type but it never gets old. One thing i'm currently doing is play through totally vanilla again...no mods whatsoever. To me it actually makes the game harder since i use a lot of awesome weapon mods. Edited December 6, 2010 by Evil D

WastelandAssassin
It's all about stealth boys and Lincoln's repeater/Blackhawk/Callahan's Magnum :D yeah, that's truemy other favorite (and probably my all times favorite weapon in Fallout 3) is the Backwater riflemassive damage to anything, uses the cheapest bullets out there, and it's quite silent
ghostfc3s
Ya every play through I find something new that I missed. I find once I can no longer carry the loot from my kills, I rush to try and find a vendor or at least unload it and miss content trying to get back home. There is plenty to do and kill even if you are not evil! I highly recommend the DC interior and lighting mods, street lights internal lighting it adds so much in the way of atmosphere and scabbing. I use to play the stealth sniper, however finding that I am loving the power armor + mini gun + grenades combo, nothing unloading on a raider when he is the door way, better know as the fatal funnel. Deleted19761User
Finding the unique weapons in the game is a lot of fun. I played through recently using the Underground Hideout Mod. I went around scrounging for weapons to put up on the wall. Scavenging and hording ammo to put on the shelves. Collecting power armor for the mannequins, and other unique outfits. And... oh... picking up EVERY single empty soda bottle I found so I could have it filled and stashed in the nuka machine. I was up to 730 nuka colas at one point. All of that alone was over 30 hours of game play. Hardly any questing done. Lots of stuff to do. Lots of fun to be had. I kind of wish there were more puzzles and such in the game but.. can't have everything....yet.
