New To Mods

I'm playing DA:O for the first time since 2009. Played it twice in November/December of last year, loved it completely, and then took a year off from it so I could love it all over again.

But I'm interested in playing with mods this time, except I've come across a problem -- oh jesus, there are so many! I don't even know where to start finding them, and half the mods I click on, I'm not even sure what they do from their description!

I'm interested in mods that fit realistically and convincingly into the game and add to the experience. I don't want ones that go against Bioware's world, just enrich it. I want mods that let me make nicer, more interesting-looking PCs, ones that add to relationships and plot points already in the game, ones that modify gameplay in a way that's not obtrusive ...

I hope this makes sense!!

Basically, what are some mods that you all consider hard to play without? What mods have you found most rewarding to your DA:O experience? Which ones would you recommend to someone using mods for the first time, who already has experience with DA:O? Pitch them to me, tell me what they do, and link them! Because finding this stuff on my own is overwhelmingly difficult when you're diving into it for the first time ever :(

Welcome Rosa!

Glad you're back playing DA. If you've been through once, (or twice) without mods, you know how fun it is. That's the way a number of us recommend doing it.

Now that you're ready to mod your experience you can take the game in lots of new directions!

For a "Just the Basics" intro, see Post #2 here: "Using DA Mods for Dummies"

For your other question, see: "Good DA Mods". My personal list is in Post #3, but many others added their favourites as well.

Happy Modding!
