Is it bad to downloaded/install many mods before running the game?

What I mean by "bad" is = Does my Skyrim game become more corrupt?

I had to reinstall Skyrim; thus, I wanted to uninstall and clean out all of my mods for a fresh start.

Since I already knew which mods I wanted back, I just went ahead and downloaded/installed one mod after another with NMM while following the correct directions and order of installation in regards to overwriting certain files.

But then, certain issues have been arising once I booted up my game after installing TONS of mods:

-1. Certain mods would not work (e.g. Death Alternative, Immersive Armors). It shows up on MCM with functional tools, but nothing were being properly executed in-game.

-2. My hard drive space started to steadily decline while playing Skyrim... Trust me; I tested this out. Once I installed ALL of my mods, I kept record of my current hard drive space because I noticed something was odd. Then, I booted up Skyrim, played for a bit, and my hard drive space lost 9+ GB. Uh.. what in the world happened there? Could my ENB be the culprit? And no, I did not install anything before then.

These were just some issues I have encountered. The majority of my mods were working; however, there were some mods that were not working properly, when they were working perfectly BEFORE I had to reinstall Skyrim. I even made sure I completely wiped EVERYTHING regarding Skyrim and mods, including the NMM folder containing saved mods.

Confused as to why I've been losing hard drive space, I wiped my game and mods again... And took a break from Skyrim for a bit. Now, I'm about to head back and reinstall the mods again.

But this time, I think I'll avoid downloading/installing many mods before running the game. But is this necessary? ==> Is it bad to download/install MANY mods before running the game?

I should also mention I primarily use Nexus Mod Manager for ALL of my mods. Even for mods I create a 7zip file for and let NMM store/install the mods for me.

Also use mod manager you don't mess with manual files unless needed. Less messy skyrim. No offense but only lazy noobs who don't want to read use NMM, Mod Organizer is the basic tool for modding.

Nearly any mod that has any scripting can cause problems during the introduction - some examples are cart flipping or game freeze during a cut scene. To avoid this hold off on any mods except cosmetic until after you complete the intro, exit the cave and make a save.

It's rare for a cosmetic mod to have any scripting. so they should not cause problems. One popular mod to especially avoid until after you finish the intro is Helgen reborn - as it not only has heavy scripting, but makes changes to the village of Helgen as well.

Just what were you planning on doing with that super sword of dragon slaying mod anyway? Kill the dragon and ruin the main story? or escape the guards and jump over the wall - anything you do, or anything that a mod does to change things during the intro will cause a crash.

Tho, the cart going crazy is funny as h*ll. xD In any case, What bben46 said, but if you just installed the game and have nothing in documents or its out of date (uninstalled the game and installed again after a while or hardware changed etc.), id suggest just to start the game and let it create what it needs in the documents and quit, after that following bben46 suggestion, you cant go wrong and google and nexus will help with the rest in the modding world. ^^
