Weapons Degradation

It's just a maguffin to make you spend caps.

Plus the majority of weapons are around two hundred years old, the majority of the ammo is pretty lousy stuff too (two hundred year old or handmade by hacks?)

As for the new guns made by Gun Runners remember they'll be using poorly recycled steel and other metals.

The handmade powder is also going to be pretty s*** grade stuff (maybe even blackpowder)

You just let me know when your going to put black powder in a modern nitrocellulose firearm, I want to come and see that . . . (from a safe distance!)

Well we've already determined that Falloutverse guns have little in common with ours.

Plus it's not stupid to assume that they're making their own powder despite lacking the resources to make modern gunpowder variants.

Ergo they've made a substitute or they're using some form of blackpowder with modified guns.

Yea, sorry guy, I guess everyone has some aspect of the game, concept or universe that rubs them the wrong way, this one's mine. Some people are hacking at the shins of the plot and others the gameplay, I suppose we should try to remember that we are doing this for fun eh?

I have to agree you Frank. After my first 2 or 3 gameruns my first mod usualy should be a degradation prevention one (if not, I buff up weapon hit points via GECK).

I understand materials could be worst, but not to make the weapon disintegrate in minutes in my hands >:( With proper clean and maintenance major degradation should be prevented.

Well personally I like the feature, it adds a sense of realism.

Sure the speed of which they degrade is a little unrealistic and perhaps they should have added a way to "clean" your weapon but ah well.

I like it, it's to make the game a little harder.

I think there are a few mods that change this should and are easy to make. Just make the health of the weapon like 1000000000 :)

I agree to an extent. I like weapon degradation in games, but they just degrade too fast.

In a game like FNV or the Stalker games, where you might be firing thousands of rounds in a short time, it is an annoyance if it happens too quickly.

A cleaning system would be better for me. You don't lose damage, but if it hasn't been cleaned of propellant/lead fouling or whatever after extremely heavy use, then you might suffer more stoppages.
