LE Ebony Warrior "Quest Line/Rival"

Pretty much, make him your nemesis/rival through out the game.

 

Start him off, with an actual name or something, or just "Warrior", or something... Where he spawns with you in the actual beginning of the vanilla game, and escapes with you, but separates when you and whoever it is you side with, escape the cave. Saying how he is going to go on his own, and become a stronger warrior (pokemon feels, yah?... also if you use alt start, he would just appear in one of the cities, or early on quests and it would start that way). Also, of course, he wouldnt start off in ebony, he would scale with you in stats (But slightly higher so itll be challenging), and he will wear whatever gear is more common for the level you are. (iron for 10-, steel for 20, dwarven for 40, ebony for 55, deadric for 70, and so on and so forth, could even be compatable with other mods to make it more interesting with weapons/armor/spells)

 

He will "bump" into you, in some of the cities and ask for a friendly "duel" where you go outside the city or something, and fight, but not to the death, if you win, he backs off, if you lose, he laughs at you, and goes on his way. You could also make him pop up in some of the quest lines also...

 

Then at the end, when your suppose to kill him, he will come up for the final challenge, if you win, you could either kill him, or make him your companion.. if you lose, he will try and kill you, or say something along the lines of "im leaving skyrim, to seek stronger foes".

For chuckles. What would be neat, is if the Ebony Warrior is actually one of the two friends you make in the beginning of the game (cant remember the name), The stormcloak, or the Imperial guy who escape with outa the cave, and from there on, you meet them on various quests and such other than just the conquest quest line, pushing you further and such, and as i said above, when yuo get to a new city, or a certain level, they'll "bump into you", and youll have a friendly duel. Just like pokemon! :D... That is, until the end of the game, where you two will duke it out, for life n death.

I dig it. There is something too esoteric about Alduin that makes your conflict with him less personal. It would be cool to befriend the ebony warrior before he becomes a badass and watch him make different choices that influence the direction he goes. And yes, key fights here and there to provide regular "boss battles" which Skyrim doesn't have a whole lot of variety of.

Yeah, its a huge rip off from Pokemon styled rivalry, but itd still be cool as heck.

 

Where hes suppose to be what rogvik or whatever his name is, the stormcloak or imperial should of been. Friends from the beginning, who keep pushing you further, being milestones as you go through out the game. Bosses, as you said, that alduin was never truely was.
