Dalish Elf question

When your character is a Dalish Elf, is it correct that Stens cage can't be lock picked?

 

This is a first for me and it's a bit confusing because the door isn't registering when I hover the cursor over where the door is. I find it strange that as a HN rogue I can pick the lock but not a Dalish rogue or is there something horribly wrong with my game? :confused:

 

To answer my own question no the lock can't be picked you have to get the key off the greedy old bat in the chantry or use a console cheat :laugh:

i know you can use persuasion to get the chantry mother to give you the key. if you have high enough coersion you can tell her you have come to take him back to his people. Didnt know you could pick the lock though. I might try that next time i play as a rogue.

I always pick the lock it's not a hard one and if I'm not a rouge I just install the mod that has all locks open, I usually play as HNF this is the first time I've played an Elf rogue.

i usually play as HNF also, i tried all the other stories on the xbox version but i think its pretty different, and i was tempted by all the cool mods i keep hearing about so i had to get the pc version aswell haha. i might try that all locks open mod thanks for the tip. :)

It isn't a stand alone mod it comes in this package Dragon Age Mutator but it's really easy to use. The only problem is you don't get any points for opening locked chests, so if you want the points don't use it all the time.

 

I prefer PC games, other members of the family play on PS2/3 and XBox and I've watched their games, I wouldn't swap with them.

PC games are awesome when your PC can handle them...my old PC was a spoilt little princess and had a tantrum every time i tried to play DA on it. so was forced to play on xbox, there was only one thing i thought was better on xbox over pc and that was the faster loading screens, other than that i have to agree Pc games are much better.

I recently had mine upgraded, well, rebuilt is more like it because everyone had black eyes and the colours were awful. I don't have birthday and Christmas presents so when I want my PC rebuilt I don't have a qualms about splashing out and my DH is the computer engineer so because of the money saved I've got more to spend on hardware, this one is my C&Bs presents for the past 6 years.

my old Pc did that black eyes thing too, was a right pain. i was naughty and got a new one on credit though lol. I wouldnt have the first idea about building one, im a bit of a computer noob lol. you must really know what your doing to have managed that.

You can pick the lock on his cage, but he never came with me unless I talked to the Mother XD.

 

I although have never played Dalish rogue (warrior is better with bows) so I wouldn't know about that bug :P.

I always used Leliana to help me with Sten, she can persuade the mother without be losing approval with Alistair.
