I'm hoping someone can help me. I posted once before but my info was not very clear so her goes

I have been playing oblivion for a long time but just upgraded my computer to a new video card the Visiontek - ATI Radeon 5670 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card.

The game starts up just fine.

You can make a character and start playing.

About 5 to 10 min into playing, any action you are doing at that time goes into a never ending loop that you can not get out of.

(example) I am swinging a sword and never stop or cant stop walking or even never ending spell casting

the frame rate stays the same at 32- 60 fps.

All other debug info is running fine as well.

I think its a memory dump but don't know what would make this happen.

At this point i can not play the game or get back to the modding community i enjoy so much please if you can help i would be grateful

my computer system is

Windows 7 pro 64-bit

8.00gb DDR 2

Intel core™2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz

ATI Radeon 5670 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express

any help would be very appreciated

Try renaming or deleting the oblivion.ini file (...\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini)

Oblivion will then redetect hardware. It will also, probably, not recognize your video card and set everything to medium. Just change the settings according to what you think your card will support (You can always change them later)

Medium?!

Radeon HD5*** always unrecognisable and settings set to "very low". It`s poor

Ok,

1. delete you oblivion.ini in My documents\My Games\Oblivion folder.

2. Load you OblivionLauncher.exe

3. Go to Settings and set:

3.1 Click "High quality" (very high i`m not recommended - for my PC (who contains Radeon HD5770) i catch crashes on this "Very high" settings :wallbash:)

3.2 Configure you monitor resolution

3.3 (optional) Uncheck "V.sync"

4. Play the Game :D

Wow, you pretty much just restated exactly what Qwaxalot said, except with some added TL;DR.
