HiddenLurker
Hey guys, im playing F:NV on very hard + hardcore mode, but its still too easy. Theres too much ammo, money, weapons and stuff....oh and the companions are quite overpowered. My question is, is there a mod that will make this game even harder? Like a ''very very hard'' difficulty? Or a mod that reduces the amount of ammo or cash you get? And no, i will not resort to ''self-deprivation'' methods to make the game harder. (E.g. only eat food to restore health or only use melee) Thanks for any input!
GrumpyTanky
...I'm trying to get something on the go to make the gameplay more tense, but I can't write scripts for shnit... Trying get someone to help write one for all "base health" for every NPC is lower, thus one or two rounds from a pistol will ruine your day, and also that you can only save the game when you sleep... Make things a little more tense, like in STALKER call of Pripyat... But... For now You could try this one... I have yet to try it, but it looks the most promising so far... http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37066
secksegai
With a name like Hidden Lurker, one can't help but wonder if trolling is involved, but I'll bite as I've seen this post from you before. As you're looking for a specific experience, one along the lines of System Shock and Bioshock, there is an inherent problem. As most enemies respawn, they effectively provide an "unlimited" source of ammo. As you claim very hard isn't hard enough for you, one would expect you wouldn't need much in the way of ammo to kill, so you'd always come up ahead. The other issue is that vendors provide ammo for purchase, and the major vendors do so with a nice supply. Truth be told, an experienced gamer won't have difficulty on the highest level simply because you've got so many options to resolve confrontations. There's simply no way to make an enemy harder if said enemy never sees you before they die. For me personally, the only way I'd be challenged is melee, as it would mean I actually get hit and have to spend a lot more on repairs. As you're looking for a very specific experience, you're ultimately looking at making your own mod. If ammo availability is what you think you need to reduce to enjoy the game more, then you'd have to modify the loot "tables" and vendor containers. Unlike the more extensive mods, all you would need is a NVGeck and basic understanding of its use. However, it be pretty tedious, as you'd have to edit a large number of leveled items to reduce ammo leftover after death, or found in containers. You'd also need to adjust the vendor containers. I got into modding to tailor things to the experience I would like for myself, I would hope you'd feel inclined to do the same.
rhystel
well you could go with IMCNNV - Imps More Complex Needs (http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37254) Reload (http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36104) <-- use the guns ignore armor plugins as well as at least reload and rebalance plugins Powered Power Armor (http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37983) why armor if guns now ignore them? Well youre still protected from melle and unarmed and that mod adds to the complexity of your inventory management (with those three installed you have to balance food drinks ammo component, ammo etc... im playing a new playthrough with these at hardcore and very hard and i often find myself walking on eggs :) Have fun!
