darkworld420
So I save a mod I have been working on and decide to take a break. I save the mod and close TES Construction set. I come back to work on it some more, complete it and decide to save (overwrite) the file, but a message pops up saying "File '(filename).esp' is a master file or it is in use. Please select another file." What do I do to fix this?

DarkYak
You have oblivion running while trying to use construction set? I have the exact same problem. Oblivion is not running when I am using the const. set. I've never had that problem before, but with my recent hard drive failure, I've had to purchase a new hard drive, and formated it with Windows 7. I lost all of my old oblivion stuff, so I've re-installed, started a new game, re downloaded mods, construction set, and now all of a sudden I have the same message about being in use, or a master File, when I try to modify and save an existing esp. I tried deactivating the esp in mod manager and then opening construction set to make changes, but that makes no difference either.
DarkYak
Got it figured out on my end.. Darkworld420, are you using windows vista, or windows 7. If so, instead of double clicking the Construction set icon to run it, try right clicking it & select "Run as administrator". I have windows 7, and using this method to launch the Construction Set allowed me to save the chenges I made to the esp. Hope that helps.

Are you setting the esp you wish to modify as the active file when loading up the plugin?
