SecretStash
I hope this downtime is a matter of NVSE just needing to recompile with the newer version. There is no way I can play this game without sprint mod, it's too awesome. unless you were dumb and downloaded the pip boy readius and now can't see anything on the pip boy because you need the nvse to get it to run.Edit: stupid like me, that is I'm in your boat. :(
SecretStash
I actually use the readius but if you do a temp uninstall of it and use one of the pipboy 3000 mods till NSVE is updated you should be fine ( I just move the redius files into a renamed folder instead of totally deleting them mainly the Characters/_male/_1stperson/locomotion (male and female folders) these are the arm animations for the readius make a temp folder move them there uncheck your readius.esps and you should see your old pipboy again Hmm... I may be using a newer version of the Readius than you. Mine only came with a .bsa and .esp. I don't have the files/folders you're listing above. I don't think AlexScorp has updated his Readme for the mod to reflect the new structure either, as it only repeats what you're saying. It even comments about how uninstallation will be different once a mod manager is made available. I've deleted the bsa and esp, and there were no folders/files created that I saw, now my character pulls their arm up correctly, but there is still no pip-boy. What am I missing? ostracized
New message on the Silverlock site "A new patch was released for Fallout New Vegas today (1.2.0.314). We are actively updating NVSE to work with the new version."
narcnh
Well, glad to see I'm in good company (or not, depending on your perspective). Saw the post on the Silverlock site. Meanwhile, 'sprint' mod intrigues me this does. Investigate shall I.
bushwackAR15
Funny thing was, the game was actually running better than ever, just before Steam took over & began downloading the new patch. Just hope the new patch doesn't end up breaking stuff. Of course I wouldn't be able to tell if the new patch broke anything or it was just more of the same from the last patch. For any of you in the same situation as me, I found this helpful hint from a user on the mod comment board that got me at least playing again:*Once you've removed the bsa and esp, start game without NVSE*in console enter in the following two codes:player.additem 15038 1player.equipitem 15038 This at least gave me back a pipboy so I could roam the wastes while waiting for NVSE to be updated.
jjk999
if your game doesn't work after puting in the new nvse_1_beta6 files look for nvse.log in the Fallout NV folder and delete that too. I just dowloaded and installed the brand new NVSE (nvse_1_beta6) and the same thing happened. It didn't work. Woah. I fixed it. When I first installed the new nvse i just moved the files from the folder to the fallout NV folder. When given the choice to copy and overwrite I said yes. But the second time I did it I FIRST deleted all the nvse files in the fallout folder. THIS IS IMPORTANT - there was a file called nvse.log that is not in the nvse folder. I deleted that too. I then moved the files and the game workes fine now. Hm. Edited December 14, 2010 by jjk999
narcnh
Just downloaded and installed NVSE beta6 and it worked immediately, but good to know that option if I run into problems. Did a quick check and all my mods seem to work. Will have to wait until tonight to run it through it's paces. Thanks to the folks at Silverlock for such a quick turnaround. You just made my day and fixed my game. I thought I would have to start all over again, not being able to see my PipBoy. I sure hope I can still use all the mods I removed trying to fix this...
