Klal
Alright, I've updated my oblivion to v1.2 and I've been using mods. It seems recently just as I've updated oblivion, random blue lines have been appearing on my screen if it's an open area like towns, etc. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and know what to do. Help is appreciated, thanks. http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq340/Crucifiedknot/Capture.jpg Edited December 14, 2010 by Klal
Eiries
Are they just on the edges of the screen, or everywhere? Perhaps a pic would help. Anyway, if it is on the edges, it might be due to a nearby Oblivion gate, or the SI portal. That warping effect that happens around it will cause blue rippling on the edges of the screen, and if you're somewhat far away, it'll oftentimes leave that thin blue line. Try entering in a town or something and see if it still occurs. If not, then it's probably a gate.

If you look, they randomly appear in all sizes.. big and small lines going across the screen. They disappear and reappear randomly. It's in buildings, caves, and open maps. Karasuman
When I get weird glitches like that, the first thing I usually do is take my ini file out of the games folder and put it in a safe place, and start the game up, letting it create a new one. See if the problem persists. This way it knocks that out as a possible cause right away, because if I am not mistaken, the 1.2 patch adds extra ini settings that weren't there before. Also, do you use OBMM? If so, have it run its conflict detector which is under utilities. Although unlikely, you might also have a mod that is not compatible with 1.2, or you have a version of a mod that was made pre-1.2 but has since had an updated release. If OBMM finds nothing major wrong, take your texture/mesh folders out of your data folder and disable all your mods. Start a new game, see if it still does it (don't load any saves you care about after doing this until you've put your texture/mesh folders back). If it doesn't do it anymore, it's a safe bet it's one of your mods causing it. These things will more or less eliminate a couple possible culprits (ini file and mods), but honestly that looks to me like a video driver issue. It looks your card's drivers (or driver settings) don't like something that was added by 1.2. If the aforementioned checks don't fix your problem, you may try installing a different driver version for your card and see if the issue goes away. I'd be pretty surprised if the issue is still there after having done the above one step at a time. I am curious as to what graphics card/driver version you have. Eiries
Did you shut your sky off using the "ts" command at one point in the past? Doing so and loading into a game without putting it back on can result in horrible outdoor explosions. And usually some amazing looking skies. Strange effects can also occur if you used "set timescale to 0" and forgot to put it back to 30 before closing your game. Resetting either and reloading your game usually fixes it. It also may be an outfit or body weighting issue, which can usually sometimes happen if you're using a weird head with a custom skeleton but... I doubt that's your issue. Either way, this can help if you see that as possibly being the issue.
