Audio problem.

I am a UK Oblivion player, i patched straight up to 1.2 UK was this not a good idea? i didn't utilize any of the older patches and now my audio has messed up, the weather which i believe is 'effects' is far louder then footsteps and music, i hear next to nothing besides the weather and also an unrelated problem this may be because i am playing with a mystic elf or one of the other modifications i currently utilize, but every character during night glows purple as if i have night eye or another spell on, i check, my armor mods have no spell effects, nor does anything else, help?

Generally, it's best to install all of the patches before adding mods/starting a game. I'm guessing the patch probably reset some of the variables in the ini file, try installing the Unofficial Oblivion patch if you haven't already, as it fixes some incorrectly set variables in the Oblivion.ini file. Also, always use "BOSS" (an auto-load order arranger), it ensures mods load order is correct.
