When I download a mod saved as a .rar, my computer always has to open it with AutoCAD, how can I change this? I want to try Real Time Settler in New Vegas and can't, because it does not show up in Data Files on the Launcher or in FOMM, please, please help?

Hold shift and right click on your file, you will see an 'open with...' in the menu. Choose that and then pick a different program to open it with.Click the always button to change it for good.

It still doesn't appear in FOMM though, which is only for .esm's I think. How do I load it into NV? Thanks for your help btw, this will help me very much in the future.

You need to make sure that you have put .esm and .esp file into your Data folder. You also need to put the Textures and Meshes folder into your Data folder too.

There is no .esm and esp. when I download the main RTS file though.

Install

===========

 

1. Extract and drop the DATA folder into your install folder

(typically \Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\)

2. Overwrite/merge files and folders when prompted

3. Enable "Brahmin Bess.esp" plugin on the "Data Files" section of

the 'Fallout: New Vegas' Launcher (or in your 3rd party launcher)

 

 

You have to extract the mod's files first. Winrar or 7-Zip amongst others will do the job.
