Problems with Soris's Wedding Attire

Recommended Posts

Wow, this PDF of yours is massive! Highly appreciated, it will come in handy! I wonder if it would be possible to allow females, at least the elvhen (I am not sure if it applies to all models or just my Warden, but she could pass for a male based on her chest with little effort) to wear clothes designed for men without reverting to the female counterparts.

Thanks and off to downloading your guide . As soon as I leave the Circle and unload the loot to my camp chest, I will use all resources you provided and get taking screenshots.

There's one body model per race and gender... all female elves have exactly the same body, all male elves are the same, all human males, etc. with the exception of the human 'fat' mesh used by a few characters like Lloyd and Slim Couldry. Every clothing (and armour item) has a race and gender specific mesh... in theory I suppose you could port the male clothing to fit female characters, but AFAIK, no-one has done so.

As an aside, it's mindboggling to recall that ages and ages ago, when I played Morrowind, I could console code my toon to be slightly more petite than the default female Imperial, and her garb would dynamically adjust to fit her new, smaller, thinner body.... whereas to do such a thing for DAO would require physically altering the mesh of every single item she wore (or interacted with, since weapon animations surely use some standard x-y co-ordinates... even the face morphs have those. (And of course those altered items would be unusable by any other character than did not have exactly the same body 'dimensions'.

With the Eclipse game engine, clothing and armour isn't "worn" over the body model. It *is* the body model. The full SDK had routines for automatically re-sizing things from a "standard" model (presumably the Human Male one) to the others. But I don't think that utility was included in the public Toolset.

So each modder who wishes to create a new armour, (for example) would have to make a total of *seven* different ones if the item is to be equippable by all races and genders, including Sten!

The mods NBaio + NV4 allow one an incredible degree of flexibility in customizing the appearance of the completely nude body model of all the principal characters, plus customization of the defaults for the others. But that's only of their *naked* bodies. The modders who built those body models did, indeed, make the many, many sets required.

I've not seen that level of dedication to other custom body models across the entire spectrum, but there have been several that address specific issues for specific situations; e.g. the "Practical Female Dalish Armor", and the "Lady of the Forest" mods.

Can you show me what NBaio is? A link would suffice. Could it help with the clothes? I am not familiar with this mod. What you are saying makes sense, when I try to put Anora's Queen Gown from BioWare's project area onto my PC, her body turns invisible except for the head, palms and feet. Just as if the body was replaced by the dress.

NBaio -> Natural Bodies all in one (link is NSFW).

It's a nude model-and-texture replacer, and will have no effect on any clothed models.

The issue you've described with the disappearing body is typically either a conflict between two mods or missing/improperly assigned meshes, and yes, the body is being replaced by whatever you equip (or vanishing it, if the files needed aren't present).
