Bug Report, might not be the right place!

If you'r at the camp and ask alistar to teach you to become a Templar he says no, and I have yet to get a yes.

If you make the selection that you respect his wishes to not tech you at the time, you get +1 in rep 4x times just repeating the same question, even tho he also says the exact same thing.

Well, atleast it feels like a bug to me, because why give rep 4 more times if you ask the exact same question and get the exact same response.

EDIT

Actully he continues doing the same thing after awhile again, and no I don't have any mods installed right now, if to imply that being a reason, might be that most already know about this tho.

Not like this is something major as you can just skip talking to him and you wont be abusing this.

Those gifts you can give to people is rather pointless tbh, because most of the people just overrush you withrep if getting on their right side in camp.

Maby This should be moved to either spoilers or some bug reporting section, but well, now it's created here.

Your approval rating (or rep as you call it) must be high enough before he will teach it to you. Get it up to warm and he should agree to it. The gifts are not pointless because you will never have a romance without them and you probably won't get many of the personal quests either.

If you check the Wiki it might tell you there, but I think your approval has to be a certain level before he will teach you or offer to teach other PC's, it's the same for the other companions that have a talent to teach, Zev , Lel and Morrigan. It's a long game just go with the flow, when the time is right things happen. Think of it this way, they aren't going to give up secrets to someone they don't know well enough.

This was not about me wanting to learn about becoming a warden, but the bug itself, as he just repetedly gives avay influence when you talk to him in camp from now and again, even tho you ask the exact sam question and get the same answer.

I wouldn't want to be a warden neways, then a Dvarwen Warrior would be a much better choice, High resistance to magic and also adds to Warrior attributes, best tank for sure, and then you can just have 2 mages and a rogue.

Can always skip the rogue and have 2 good Tanks, but itäs nice to be able to pick locks.

So your approval rating is warm or better and you still get this? Are you patched to 1.04?

LoL! Are you saying that, just like in real life, if someone tells you "No", but you keep bugging them with the same request over-and-over (before getting them to like you a little better) they then like you less-and-less?

I don't call that a "bug", I call that: "situationally accurate" programming!

Yes, I got The latest patch installed.

But as Im playing a mage right now I don't care, Im just saying that this can't be right, talking to Alistar in camp, haveing the exact same conversation over and over, and get an approval point each time, well I got 4 in a row with thhe exact conversation, then it stopped, but then I asked him the same question again and there it goes again, he continuing to give approval points and the discussion dos'nt change the slightest, he says no, the conversation is over and I get approval.

So it has to be a bug.

whatever the approvalrating is Im not sure of, but for sure high above Neutral, but that dos'nt change the fact that you should'nt get approval for saying the same exact same thing several times in a row, while he gives the same answer.

For the love of god, no Im bugging him with the same question over and over and he gives me approval points for it, both of us saying the exact same thing, if anything he would get annoyed and lower my standing.

Sorry, I misunderstood. When you said Alistair was "giving approval away" I assumed that his Approval was going DOWN!

To check your current Approval Rating (and Relationship Status, which is not quite the same thing):

o Open your inventory screen and cycle to the character in question. Under the paperdoll is a meter with a marker showing how "full" it is.

o Hover your cursor over the marker (or maybe click on it, I forget) and you'll get a popup with a numeric score (that character's Approval Rating) and a word in parentheses (Relationship Status.)

Certain events occur (or are possible) when the Rating gets to certain points (positive AND negative) and certain plot/dialogue branches open (or close) as the Relation Status changes.

"Adore" does NOT equal "Love"!
