Deleted6227853User
[REQ] Immersive Learning BlacksmithI have been playing skyrim for a long time by now but i just realize how odd is the blacksmith skill i mean how the player be able to smith a daedric armor just by activate the skill tree perks, dont give me wrong i love the way it be developed and the only problem i just realize when i play Dawnguard. When i want to smith a dawnguard crossbow i need to ask to teach for be able to smith it. now the one i want to request are a mod that dont allow player to be able to smith anything until the player ask a certain NPC to teaching how to smith it. example: when player activate the Orcish tree skill player can't smith any orcish armor & weapon until learning from the NPC. Like player need to ask the orc at markarth to be able to smithing orcish armor and weapon. Thank you for reading my request.
BigBizkit
I do agree with the general notion that the vanilla craft system ain't that great and that a different system, e.g. like the one you are describing, would make more sense. That being said, implementing such a system is very simple but very labourious. a) You just have to edit recipes with a condition -> easyb) You would have to do this for every craftable item in the game -> labourious. There is no dynamic system that could accomplish that. THAT being said, there is a mod called "lorecraft" that I have not tried but which supposedly adds a lot of books to leveled lists which you need to find in order to be able to smith certain items. Meaning, it basically did a lot of those simple edits already. Not exactly what you want but as I said, making what you want is easy, if you have the time. Couldn't you take the perks out of the skill tree and have talking to the NPCs just give you the certain perks? Like, using the previous example, talking to the Orc in Markharth and choosing a dialouge like, "Teach me Orcish Smithing" would add the perk to the player? BigBizkit
You could. Then you would have to rework the entire perk tree of course. Still better than having to change every recipe, I guess.

Still better than having to change every recipe, I guess.I've never really created a proper mod, aside from changing values or building minor rooms, so I wouldn't know how difficult that would be. But instead of changing the layout of the perk tree, couldn't you just create new smithing perks to go in those places? Like perks that change what happens when you're smithing, ex. Higher damage, greater value, lower weight, etc.
