A crossbow request

This is kind of silly, but I wanted a crossbow in new vegas, but the lack of darts for ammunition, (since this was taken out of the game) there is nothing to use as an ammo for a crossbow, what if throwing spears could be used as a model to be used as an ammo type to fire from a crossbow?

i know that there is a crossbow mod for FO3, and the author said that he will port it for New Vegas

haven't seen it uploaded yet, but i am sure it will happen

well, it won't be the giant crossbow like you want (probably, at least) but it will be something much more realistic (i mean, it's not like a spear-shooting giant crossbow is the easiest weapon to carry through a desert...... :tongue:)

If only we had a model for a harpoon... But I second the crossbow idea.

Lol, if the spear is all you need, you can take my javelin model. It even has a projectile definition already done. Or just skip the middleman and just chuck the javelin yourself ;)

 

Edit: or, heck, if you want something more spear like, take the Hasta. You'll still have to do your own projectile out of it, but it should be just a copy and paste exercise. Or the verutum, if you want your projectile only 4 ft long, for a personal weapon. The harpoon isn't the big problem there, really. The crossbow is.

 

Something like that weapon actually existed historically too. It was called a ballista. The Romans were into that kinda thing big time.

 

But yeah, it wouldn't be the easiest thing to haul around. It was a piece of artillery, rather than personal equipment.
