Where may I specify reloading sounds in the GECK for weapons?

Are you looking to specify custom sounds, or sounds that are already in game?

If the sound you are trying to assign is already in game, when you're in the weapon properties screen, go to the art and sound tab. To the far right of that tab is where you can choose sounds. There are a few for Attack sounds, should be one for reload, dry fire, equip, etc.

If the sound you want isn't already in the game, you have to create a new "list" for the sound. To do that, under the Audio dropdown of the object list window, you'll want to go to Sound, pick one of the pre-existing weapon sounds, change the FormID and direct the GECK to your new sound, save as a new FormID, then follow the instructions above.

The Art & Sound tab is pretty straightforward but if you need I can go into more detail.

None of the sound entries on the art and sound tab seem to relate to reloading. Equipping, firing, yes. Reloading, no. I also looked under the ammo tab, but I could not find it. Short of random experimentation, can anybody identify the specific location of reloading?

Ah, after taking a closer look, you're right there isn't anything to specify sounds for reloading, although looking under the Sound options in the Audio dropdown of the Object Window, there are sounds specified for reloading for weapons like Flamer, Cowboy Repeater etc. The problem is there are no users set, but the Editor IDs are stated in the same format as the firing sounds. For example, Flamer sounds are WPNFlamerFire2DLPM, WPNFlamerFire3DLPM, WPNFlamerIdleLPM, WPNFlamerJam and WPNFlamerReload.

Not sure what the connections are, if any. I'll look into it more when I have a little extra time.

I believe it has something to do with the weapon animations where specific sounds are set to trigger within certain stages of the animation. This is necessary in order to have a New Vegas perk that speeds up your reloading. I just do not know where to start looking to modify the sound sources for reloading.

My guess is there is a .kf animation for the reload process which probably specifies the path for the reload sounds. Unfortunately as far as NIF and KF files go, my knowledge is virtually non-existent. Hopefully someone else with more knowledge on this can chime in.
