Ba1k3n Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I'm upgrading a toaster PC into a gaming tower and due to unforseem events I had to change out my motherboard a bit earlier than planned.Last Motherboard was OEM new motherboard is an MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard and my old CPU fan just won't fit. My questions is, what is a good CPU fan that is in the 50-100 dollar range and will fit on the board? My CPU is an AMD Athlon II. Thank you for any help.
Coaster Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I am running an 8350 with a Noctua NH-D14. This unit will fit on an AM2 to AM3 socket. I don't remember which socket an Athlon II uses, but I think it is AM2. This is a big unit, but it fits nicely on my Gigabyte motherboard, and it really cools down my CPU. It is also cheap, comparatively, I think I paid $80 CDN.
