So does this mean I can't change it at all? There's gotta be a way. I did get Lydia and Jordis to walk like female, but I have no idea how now. That was quite a while ago. I'm not a mod maker, don't know much about that at all. Can anybody make a mod to change the walking animation of the human females in the game without needing to start a new game? You don't have to start a new game. Some changes take awhile for the game to register. It does a reset at regular intervals. Not just me saying this - here is from a mod on Nexus called "Feminine Females": If you install the Mod at the start of a new game, the changes should be obvious right at the beginning during the Helgen intro sequence as the Imperial Captain (Red Queen) is one of the NPC’s affected, so you should see her moving differently. If installed during a game, not all of the NPC’s will necessarily be affected straight away, but as time goes on the changes will eventually kick in, it takes a little time for the game to register the changes. In the same way, should you decide to uninstall the Mod during a game, the changes will take time to fade and the NPC’s return to their vanilla animations. In either case though, you won’t do your game any harm. I don't use this mod because I made other changes to the females as well that I don't want to override, but looking at the esp it does what I am suggesting. Like I said before the other guy so rudely interrupted, I edited the females in my game at Level 47. Some took a little while, but now they all walk like females. But hey maybe all of us modders are just delusional. Edited April 21, 2015 by psychoslaphead
Noortje
Sorry man but just because some random mod author makes a vague claim that doesn't make it true. If you make a new save without the mod, then activate the mod and save again you can play all you want it will never change. It's hard coded into the savegame it's not a matter of regular interval it will simply never happen. Edited April 21, 2015 by Noortje

Worked straight out of the box for me on a Level 6 character - I noticed the changes within minutes and I was inside Whiterun proper. I haven't encountered Lydia, because I use Alternate Start and had just come from Morthal (same for the other Housecarls), but I encountered some Thalmor near Rorikstead and noticed the female agents were no longer walking like men - excellent. I never noticed that about the female Thalmor agents on the road, but the difference was quite distinct and good to see! Just because they are wearing armor - they shouldn't have to clomp about like men! I also like how lightweight this is and not dependent on FNIS, which I'm not interested in - thanks again! So, I'm proof you do not need to start a new game for this mod to work! Maybe you should do a little research on Object Oriented Programming before you insult people trying to help others. The only random in this thread appears to be YOU. EDIT: I confused the Fores and XP32 mods (I'm using XP32's animation files myself) - the Fores mod is actually called Sexy Moves and it also changes all of the female flags. Noortje
Umm that post doesn't prove your point at all. When using the alternate start mod a lot of characters related to the main quest don't get loaded in yet. Including Lydia. The animation gets loaded in on Lydia the minute the main quest is started. The minute she gets loaded in the gender animation path she has at that point sticks for good. So again, these types of mods won't work on an old save game. Edited April 21, 2015 by Noortje
andyfed83
Well like I said, I did get Lydia and Jordis to walk like females, mid game. For the life of me I can't remember how. It's not a mod cuz there's no mod like that in my Mod Manager. Maybe it was a console command, I don't know. Didn't want to start any fights on here by the way, just trying to get some answers. Noortje
I'm not calling him a liar because he isn't claiming he did it with a .esp. The opposite in fact. I am also curious as to how he did it, would be a great discovery if we can reproduce it. Lets hope it wasn't a fluke. psychoslaphead
Here is another know-it-all poster that gets his a** handed to him by others that actually understand how the game works, and has to come crawling back to say he was wrong. I can't expect someone like you to EVER do that, but at least others can see who is wrong here. Again, from an esp mod (Feminine Females) that alters the gender animation flag: I wish it would work on already started games, but its refreshing to know that when I meet Lydia and company in another playthru, they'll walk like normal women, not someone with a bad rash in awkward places. (Really, it looks more like "every step chafes" than "I'm macho and tough" :wink:posted @ 23:26, 23 Nov 2014Replyhttp://static-2.nexusmods.com/15/contents/images/noavatar.gif ShawnDriscoll18 kudos3525 postsThat'd be cool if the Skyrim design allowed for this kind of mod to just be plugged in at any point in a game. But OOP languages don't allow for it.reportposted @ 23:29, 23 Nov 2014Replyhttp://forums.nexusmods.com/uploads/profile/photo-thumb-17592524.jpg Badgerwoman0 kudos60 postsFortunately, I just started playing Skyrim again, and this time on PC with all the pretty mods. So, so far I just have a mod testing character and have yet to start a "real" character. So when I do, all the pretty mods including this one will be there from the start :Dreportposted @ 1:34, 24 Nov 2014Replyhttp://static-2.nexusmods.com/15/contents/images/noavatar.gif ShawnDriscoll18 kudos3525 postsEveryone should do it the way you are.reportposted @ 3:01, 24 Nov 2014Replyhttp://forums.nexusmods.com/uploads/profile/photo-8227044.jpg iwd20 kudos35 postsWhat are you talking about? It works on already started games... You just need to wait untill scripts update, try to wait, sleep or fasttravel around, go clear couple of dungeons and when you return it should be working.reportposted @ 8:30, 5 Dec 2014Replyhttp://static-2.nexusmods.com/15/contents/images/noavatar.gif ShawnDriscoll18 kudos3525 postsThat doesn't work. You already mentioned Object Oriented Programming languages, so I'm going to assume a certain level of knowledge on your part. As I've said before in this thread, NPCs are no different to any other object in this case - they are objects spawned in a cell and they will respawn when the cell respawns if they're not prevented from doing so by something like a quest alias.reportposted @ 6:11, 6 Dec 2014Replyhttp://static-2.nexusmods.com/15/contents/images/noavatar.gif ShawnDriscoll18 kudos3525 postsI removed a bunch of mods that were undoing this one. All females seem to walk like females now without any new game needing to be started. I'm using the USKP patches with my Skyrim. Noortje
Except followers don't refresh, because they and everything they have on them is constantly tracked and hard coded into your save game. Eckss is wrong here I'm afraid. Here's another example:Certain containers are safe for storage, you can put something in them and the items will never disappear, while with other containers you put something in them and when the cell resets, so does this container and what's in it. The only reason to achieve a safe container is to hard link it into to your save game or to have a script running that keeps track of it at all times. The same is true for followers, although in this case it's a nuisance rather than a benefit. Edited April 22, 2015 by Noortje
