markahart
This machine and a couple of M1 mods are great! I love the classics, they are solid and durable weapons. Missing though is the Browning Automatic Rifle, AKA the BAR. the BAR used a 20 round box mag or could be feed by a linked ammo. the weapon was very accurate and was sometimes fitted with a scope for long range engagements. It used the same ammo as the M1 Garand as such it could be made to use the .308 round. If a mesh for this weapon is out of the question than at least mod for the M-60 light machine gun that used the 7.62X51mm round. the M-60 was dual feed as well. (box mag or belt feed) Thank you any modder for looking at this idea.
bben46
I am very familiar with the BAR, and have never seen it used with link (belt) ammunition. And I don't see how the action could accommodate a belt feed. FYI, 'Link' belts are metal links that are held together by the bullet and fall apart when the bullet is fires, leaving a pile of individual links on the ground under the weapon and shell casings scattered off to one side. Usually associated with the older M1919 Browning .30 cal machine gun (Not the BAR) For some reason the US Military never considered the BAR as suitable for use with a scope. I believe it is because the BAR does not have a single shot mode - just 2 settings for auto - My instructor called them fast and faster About 300 and 500 rounds per minute. The BAR I trained on was made by IBM  My father carried a BAR when he waded ashore on Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and a dozen other mostly obscure islands. My great uncle carried one between WWI & WWII. I was trained with one, along with many other weapons in use in the mid 1960s, but actually carried an M14. An amazing service life for a weapon. The M60 is a belt only feed. The 'magazine' is actually a smaller box with a belt inside.
