Macaquinho
like many oblivion players, i think that this game is the best ever made, still playin it since the release, but i think that the game has a lot of potencial to be a LOT more epic (...) when i searched for new mods that could change the in game experience in a very deep way, i came up with "Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul" and "Francesco's Mod".Cant make my made opon what of these ones should i choose... if any1 can find time to guide me and tell me witch one is the best and why, i would really apreciatte it, and i think that it would be very usefull for many guys out there
darkedge42392
Well, if you were going to use OOO and Fran's Leveled lists together, You'd need to get FCOM here It allows you to play OOO,MMM, Fran's, and Warcry all at once. FCOM Instillation Guide Use this to install FCOM. It has easy to follow steps and is very detailed. Oh, and it's all personal preference. I just use OOO+MMM, but FCOM is good as well. Axxaw
I use them both together in FCOM, it works great by the way. I haven't tried Fran by itself but I did use OOO by itself before I started using FCOM. I liked OOO a lot because of the more Static Environment it employs, certain places will have far more enemies of a certain level instead of the regular "everything levels up as you do" that Oblivion employs. From what I've read Fran does less towards this than OOO but still goes in this direction a little bit. I hesitate to say one or the other since I haven't used Fran exclusively but I do recommend OOO, or if you want there's always FCOM then you don't have to choose at all. dcgames
Hi guys, just jumping in here because these mods sound interesting. Is FCOM: Convergence the same as just FCOM? I looked up OOO and MMM on Google, because I had no idea what the initials stood for. They both sound great as well. Do you need to have some program to install and run these mods on Oblivion? darkedge42392
@dcgames, FCOM is FCOM: Covergence, just shortened. @machaquinho OOO+MMM Instillation Guide. Use this if you don't want FCOM. It's what I use and the steps involved are easy to follow. All you have to do is read them, follow them, install everything, then play. It's that simple. londonade
I don't think there really is a 'best' configuration for the overhaul mods since they all have different effects on gameplay. The differences beween an OOO installation and a Frans one are pretty major. Many people swear by OOO, wanting a more static game enviroment but for the game I want to play that doesn't really work at all. I tend toward the 'dead is dead' style of play, and keeping a character alive leads to sweaty palmed immersion for me. For me Frans is the answer - it's really customisable in game with the numbers of enemies, the strength of enemies and bosses, and the armour and weapons they have all being set at a level to fit the character I have. I don't want my character to be one who ran into a dungeon and bit off more than he could chew, I want my character to be one who came through and survived - not that they all do of course. Put it this way, if you really were a retired fantasy adventurer who had dungeon delved for years, then the enemies you'd have encountered along the way would necessarily have been ones 'scaled to your level', and that's the story I want to tell in my game. Frans gets rid of the 'all bandits in glass armour' thing, unless you are very unlucky and meet a high level boss who happens to be paricularly well equpped. Because Frans isn't as static as OOO then dungeons are more unpredictable - when you enter a dungeon you are not quite sure what you will find there. Again that is what I want - to be able to go anywhere and not to have to avoid certain dungeons because they are too hard. For me that really breaks immersion. I don't use Frans monsters because I'm not too keen on them, and am thinking of trying a Frans + MMM installation next. Can anyone tell me what parts of Frans are used in FCOM?
