The strike system on these forums is a form of disciplinary procedure that tries to encourage people to follow the rules or etiquette through semi-rehabilitation. In its simplest form it is there to warn people they are not abiding by the rules and give them a chance to stop breaking them before they are banned.

 

We follow a simple "three strikes and you're out mentality" where members breaking the forum rules repeatedly are given strikes. On being issued their third strikes troublesome members are banned from these forums permanently. A ban encompasses all Nexus sites.

 

Strikes are issued by myself and members of the moderating team. Strikes are issued for repeatedly breaking the Forum Terms of Service or the Posting Don'ts as suggested by Switch, one of our forum moderators.

 

For a first strike offense members will normally be warned of an impending strike by a moderator and told to stop the wrong act they are performing. Based on the response of the member to this warning and whether they cease the wrong act they are performing a strike may or may not be issued.

 

A second strike will normally come without warning since the member should be well aware of the forum rules and posting etiquette on these forums by this time and should know better.

 

In severe situations (such as attacking a forum moderator) more than one strike might be issued.

 

Strikes are rarely issued but all posting members should be aware of the forum rules and posting etiquette when it comes to things like what is considered spamming, malicious, thread necromancy or undesirable. Please note that we might interpret spamming, necromancy or insulting posts differently to you, and that we go by OUR interpretations, not yours.

 

Members have a chance to redeem themselves and remove strikes from their name by acting well within the community and not giving the moderators any hassle.

 

As a general rule of thumb please remember that the moderators are the police of these forums and you should act as though you were dealing with the police when approached by them on your actions. Moderators are not here to make your posting life a misery, instead they're here to keep the peace and make these forums an enjoyable experience for all. They are the most trusted members of these forums and should be treated as such. With this in mind if people are unduely rude, disrespectful or insulting to moderators of these forums they could be issued 1, 2 or even an instant 3 strikes (and a ban) for their actions. Having said that the moderators are still members of this community and you can treat them as equals in anything except discinplinary procedures (so you need not "suck up" or side with them simply because they are moderators!).

a chance to stop breaking them? really? since when...

i see it as unfair as i make a post on someones post concerning Patent Law and my account gets banned....

really? seems as if i got only one strike thats not even validated or even a strike.

how does one strike out "Legal Law" that your "general rules" actually credit, and i get banned for telling someone that, no matter what a readme or permissions post says, that no matter what anyone says, "not even your site policy can go against "Patent Law" , that without a legally binding patent, none of these mod or creations have any legally binding statures. and i get banned for it?

why, and how is that a bannable offence, so i have also made this new account just so i may post my thoughts on this matter, and i have also reported my banning modders "strike/banned" post with my report and more in detail of what my post said, as well as a link to the US.GOV site to there "U.S patent infringement penal code" stating law and informing is not trolling as it is true fact. period.

 

anyways, thats my thoughts on the strike system thats in place, no doubt this account will now be banned as my last account got banned for stating law fact, this one will now be banned for same thing plus will say im trolling in this post too. no doubt in one strike... falsely stated rules is not fair to me or anyone else in regards to enforcing the rule in question.
