Freezing

does anyone have any suggestion on how to stop my game from freezing on PC, When I first started to game I forgot to close all the programs i had open and it froze, so so i had to open the task manager to quit the game. then i closed all the programs and restarted the game, I got to where Jonas gives me the gun i shoot at the targets and then we take the photo right before Jonas takes the photo it freezes so than i do what did when it froze before and it starts me from the beginning of the birthday party then it freezes after the butch starts fighting with me at that point im annoyed so i call my brother and he tells me to change the settings on my graphics card i do that but it still freezes at the birthday party,

 

These are my specs.

 

Processor:

Intel Core i5

Memory:

4gb DDR3

Motherboard:

Asus P7P55D-E PRO

Graphics Card::

Asus EAH4850 TOP CUcore 1gb GDDR3

 

i have goty my brother in-law told me to get a crack so wouldn't have to use the disc you think that could be the reason?

Are you using Window 7 64 bits? Does it freeze all the time or is it in certain parts of the game?

 

Try one of those two things:

 

1) Download the d3d9.dll and put it on you Fallout folder, free link for you!

2) Edit the FALLOUT.txt, it's in the same place where the game makes it's saves

Open the txt and search for bUseThreadedAI

Change it to bUseThreadedAI=1

Below it add another line and put iNumHWThreads=2

I'm using windows 7 ultimate 64bit, it first started freezing right after the robot cut the cake and then every time after that, someone told me it might have been the crack i was using so uninstalled it and then reinstalled it and now it won't go past me getting born

 

I'll try your first suggestion since I don't have a saved game
