Litterbox Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 First question: Is there a way to "Search" for keywords in an item ID or name? I'm looking for altars, but I can't seem to find one. Secondly, does it matter how high or low you build on your map? Or is it okay so long as the map is built correctly, and works how a map should work?
Abramul Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Regarding the Search question: You can use Find Text. This will locate a string in item names, dialogue, and (I think) books. The other search functions, aside from the Replace one, are apparently broken.

I know that in most applications you'd use CTRL + F, but that does nothing for me in TESCS. Is there a list of items someplace I could look at to use this with? Or am I just missing something in your explaination?
Abramul Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Oops, should have mentioned its in the Edit pulldown. If you prefer a keyboard shortcut, use ALT-E to open the Edit menu, and hit T. The height question needs expansion. Do you mean displacement from cell 0, 0?Do you mean height above ground-level?Do you mean ground-level itself?

Also, for the height question, I'd love to elaborate, but I can't really think of how to do so. I've play-tested my map once or twice to see if it would be an issue, and so far so good. So, yeah. Basically, my x, y, z values were either really high in places, or in the negatives. So, I was uncertain if this would be an issue. So far, it isn't.
