prognosis218
When I start Oblivion no music plays at the start screen or during the game. All other sounds are audible, and seem to play fine. I have reinstalled Oblivion multiple times, and whats really strange is I've played for months and this just started happening. All my sound/video drivers are up to date, I have no idea what going on. I've even gone into the place where all the sound files are held and all the .mp3's seem to be there, and play fine in Windows Media, just not during the game. My second problem is that when playing, usually after a few minutes, and at what seem to be random points, my mouse and keyboard stop working in the game. If I'm moving forward, I just keep going in a straight line. The rest of the game doesnt freeze, it just seems to be my controls stopping... any idea whats up with that. It seemed to start at the same time as the sound issues, and again, I have reinstalled about 3 times. Each time the same things happen, and this is AFTER about 2 months of playing with no problems. Guest Tessera
Kill the overclocking. See if it improves. Oblivion is one of the few games that suffers from all kinds of weird glitches on overclocked systems. You don't need to overclock, anyway... your hardware (with the possible exception of your harddrive choice) is perfectly fine for the game's requirements. Also, you made no mention of your soundcard. If it's the built-in A97 sound on the ASUS mobo, then that may also be a factor here. For the record, I own (and use) an ASUS A8N32-SLi Deluxe mobo myself, so I'm very familiar with it. For the audio, however, I use an old SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum, which is still cranking along just fine. :)
