skifozoa
Hey guys. The Fallout wiki page on the sniper rifle states the following: Outside V.A.T.S., with 100 small guns, the weapon can shoot as far as the game will draw NPCs (playing at high resolutions will greatly improve NPC visibility). However, the point of impact is higher than where the centre of the scope is aimed. After the fire button is pressed, the scope aim will very rapidly jump up and shift slightly to the right almost at the same time the shot is actually fired. See the images below to determine how to compensate for this. Is this bug conditional on having 100 in small arms? I'm at 90 something at the moment and haven't had difficulties yet with hitting my targets (patch 1.7) I'm afraid that when I hit 100 this bug will start playing up. Or does it happen all the time and did I just adapt unconsciously ? Thanks! ps: I hope this is the correct subforum
TheOriginalEvilD
This is usually referred to as bullet rise and/or auto aim. I can't tell you exactly how either one works or effects shooting, but i do use mods that eliminate both and i can tell you that with any level of small guns from 20-100, if i shoot while the cross hair is over someone's head, they get nailed no matter what the distance is. Without the mods it's hit and miss. I remember playing without mods and to me it seemed like i had to aim way over the target's head like there was real world bullet drop from gravity..i don't remember having to aim low. harmypants
I've never had a problem with the issue you've described, at any Small Gun skill level. The only issue I've had is the auto aim. Outside of VATS with the sniper rifle I've had a headshot lined up just to have my bullet leap to the side and get a closer enemy in the torso. It hurts, but I've learned to deal with it.
