rendering problem

Title

 

Running the game on a INSPIRON 1564 laptop, and whatever defaults that comes with, which is pretty good.

Game runs OK except for:

enemies, NPC's, and some objects will not render in my view until they get very, very close to me (the character) I can extend the field of view (make stuff render) by popping in and out of VATS, and stuff otherwise appears normally on the radar, the game just doesn't render stuff right. I've had this problem before AND after any mods were added on, so I know that's not the issue.

also, sometimes the game just crashes, occasional to rare occurrence, and I don't really know why. I know it's not caused by an object, because I can revisit the sites where I crashed and the game will work just fine.

maybe you should change the settings on the Fade settings, and LOD settings

i think that these settings change the distance in which objects are rendered in better quality (or something like that)

 

so if you change these settings, it should make objects and NPCs and whatever, render in greater distances

 

not 100% sure if this is true, but i'm sure it's worth a try, as it can't really hurt anything

thanks, this is my face when it worked.

crashes are still unexplained, but it's rare enough that I don't care.

crashes are easily enough to explain

 

you are using a game, and adding mods to it

since the game wasn't built with these mods as a part of it (hence they are MODS), it is obvious that it might have some problems with it

 

mods always make the game a little less stable

the more mods you have, and the more effects they have on the game, the less stable the game gets

it's the Murphy rule of modding, as it appears (or at least on the specific engine that the game is built on, Gambryo i think is the name)

 

as long as the crashes are rare and don't happen in specific cases, consider yourself lucky :)

That's not entirely true. Certain mods should have absolutely no effect on stability, as some "mods" are merely changing a value or two. The thing to keep in mind is that the game isn't entirely stable to begin with. Even the latest patch, certain fixes can add more instability - for example a script that was meant to be a fix can actually crash the system in situations where there is more than one of the item invovled.

 

Some Mods can lead to a bit of instability - a lot of that is dependent on how extensive the changes are.

well, i'll take your work on that, secksegai

 

i was sure that every esp you load has it's effect on the games' stability (even on a microscopic level)

 

but like i said, i'll take your word on that

besides, it's not like anyone can really trust the effect of just one, tiny mod on the game, right?? :biggrin:

 

but in general, we were both speaking of the same concept
