If you read the most recent news posts you can see the extent of the nexus support for the valve workshop. Also know that the nexus is committed to make sure that mods remain free. In the mod author section we are currently trying to figure out ways that modders can make money of mods without charging the user as a way of encouraging modder to keep their mods hosted for free.

The nexus is down as a supported site on the valve workshop what this means is a modder can opt to give 1-5% of valves cut of the mod sold to the nexus sites. The same can be done for other modding sites and blender.

There is a lot of confusion over charging for mods - It is still against the Bethsoft EULA for anyone but Bethsoft, and now Valve to make any money through use of the Skyrim CK ( or any other Beth SDK) That is why we could not allow mod makers to request or require being paid for mods in the past. And we still cannot allow it. Valve made a deal with Beth. That deal excludes Nexus and you from just demanding payment for a mod. However, On the Nexus, you can donate to an author to thank them for their work. NOT as payment for any specific mod, just as a voluntary donation to show appreciation for their work. 100% of that donation goes directly to the mod author. This is not new, it has been there for quite a while, just not many people used it. It was not in a very obvious location either - it has been moved to a much more obvious location now. This is in no way a pay for mods as no donation is required for any mod on the Nexus. If you feel you cannot afford to donate, then by all means don't. That does not mean you shouldn't still endorse those mods you like though. And not all mod authors are accepting donations. They would prefer the appreciation be shown through endorsements.

Yup, Reddit is a reliable source for news. :pinch:
