How do I make a weapon qualify for the Cowboy Perk

I just started with the geck about half an hour ago. I wanted to modify an esp with a revolving carbine, the original was too powerful. Since it is a revolver carbine like the colt 1855 .357 mag, I thought it should qualify for the cowboy perk but I have no idea how to do it. I'v only changed the base damage and added the 357 mag revolver weapon mods (and the cowboy repeater maple stock). Could anyone help a clueless newbie? Edited by devinpatterson
