Loss of sight

Oki, gotta post my first request...well, i don't really request it, it's something i would like to see, hopefully other too.

May have been suggested before, i'm not the brightest person around i guess.

Right...over to the idea.

Eye problems!

Or shall i say...LOS, like Loss of Sight.

You travel along the wasteland in search of caps or some insane fiends (or whatever it was in F3).

Suddenly, near the Rivet City, before walking up the ramps, a gang of raiders approaches you, with some simple 9mm guns in their hands.

They start firing at you, and you shoot back at 'em, when all but one lies beneath the wasteland sun, you shoot the last foe.

You did not kill him, but you shot the weapon out of his hands.

As a last attempt to kill you, he throws a bottle of acid in your face.

The bottle cracks and the acid runs down your face, your vision disappears.

You're panicking as you hear the raider run towards you.

You desperately wipe of the remaining acid, trying to focus on the quick footsteps, pointing your gun in the direction to fire after the noise, suddenly...things are silent.

As you may be a little scared now, you try to listen to the surroundings for the smallest noise, which is not easy over the burning pain of acid in your eyes.

You quickly take some chems to kill of a little pain.

And now you can be at a little more ease, then you hear small footsteps behind you...SWOOOSSH, as fast as possible, you pulled your knife and slized it backwards, hear a small grunt before the stupid sound of flesh hitting asphalt.

As the last raider is dead, you try to focus with the little sight you have left, trying to loot the dead.

Then, on one of the raiders, you find some reading glasses...broken, not much, just cracks in the glass, but you put them on, and for all luck you manage to have, you can see a little better...

Just a little, maybe some better glasses?

But no...not many wearing glasses these days.

You rest easy and walks to Rivet city and asks to see the doctor, who cures your eyes.

Well, that's how the story can be.

The idea is to add a blur effect, which can be quite different, from heavy to light.

This "blur" is a result of your eyes being exposed to damage of some sort, acid, chems, shot in the head (old story that one)...you name it.

There is only ONE way to cure it...see a doctor...

There is only ONE way to counter the effect...temporarily... with glasses

There is only ONE way to avoid it...cover the eyes (glasses)

Fortunately sometimes it happens on only ONE eye...hope it's not the eye used for sighting a weapon O.O

Glasses can be found on some humans around the wasteland, maybe even bought from merchants.

The glasses strength is random indeed, some adds just a tiny bit of better sight, some lets you see as if nothing happened.

But be careful, those can be broken, leaving only small shattered pieces of glass, which you can see through, but not where the pieces are missing.

For each time your eyes are hurt, you get different stats increase depending on what damage.

Acid: Strength (the pain caused by the acid, makes you see red (oh, really?), your anger have reached new heights and your strikes hits harder)

Chems: Melee/Unarmed critical bonus (Your eyes feels like burning, the blood feels thick as your strength decreases, but gives a massive melee/unarmed critical bonus)

Bullet: Agility (The sound of a bullet coming makes you dodge a litte, letting the bullet scratch your face a litte...where the eyes are...boosting reflexes, increasing Agility, because you learned to be faster next time)

Melee/unarmed hits: Weapons/spread increased/damage increased (your will to kill those who hurt your poor eyes needs to die...then it's good to gun around with greatly increases weapon spread, but also doubles the damage, hoping to hit your torturers)

Ah, well, maybe gotta add some more ideas later...but of course, feel free to help a little by adding other eye-damaging-suggestions.

So, well there it is, what i did write...might have forgotten something, but won't correct it...gotta drink some coffee and smoke before i make wasteland the deadland :P

Do a search for vision mods and you will probably find many that add different visual effects based on things like blood loss, radiation, and I think Arwen's can add a blurry vision when you put on reading glasses. Just saying if nobody makes this mod for you, you might be able to make your own using those resources. Edited by Daecat
