Why am I taking such a fps hit with my mods?

Not to pop your bubble, but not only is Skyrim and ENB horrible with duo graphics cards, the 295 isn't even that great of a card when compared to nvidias top cards (both quality wise, performance wise and price wise) and certainly isn't the top graphics card in the world.

That isn't the problem here. This is my m295x at 4k (3840x2160) resolution and official HD DLC plus modded HD texture and mesh overhauls by people on Nexus. I have to limit the FPS to 60 in ENBoost to keep scripts and Havok from tweaking. The drops to the low 50's are the worst I see. I'll hit well over 100s indoors if I take off the limiter. The problem is RealVision - it's OK for screenshots, not much else IMO.

It's not just your rig though and not just texture and ENB's that'll give you a fps hit, for example follower mods will slow your frame rate down! what stage in a game are you, does this happen with a new game?

If so I'd suggest disabling flora, extra npc mods, extra animal mods, follower mods etc to try and narrow down what maybe affecting this.

Do you use NMM or MO?

It depends, Most of the Graphic mods don't have much problems. The real trouble makes are mods that use alot of Ram, Skyrim is s#*! at allocating ram, i had to mod and tweak for about 5 hours to get all my mods stabalized (Aka, Scripted mods can be a big problem if you use too many, and probably need quite some work, This is due to Skyrim, not to the mods)

Like I said, your rig isn't strong enough to run an ENB at those graphics settings. 4k + ENB is very taxing and ENB doesn't make good use of duocore gpus. I'm surprized you get decent fps at all, I would suggest running at 2k instead. Turning off depth of field and using dynavision instead will also help your fps a bit.

Not sure what the OP was shooting for on resolution, but there is no need for any ENB other than ENBoost at 4k resolution. The only reason I even tried the presets was to fix shadows, and they just made things worse. Totally black shadow projection during the middle of the day? I know we are dealing with and trying to compensate for rendering engine limitations, but still. I'd rather just do without. If you just need the cool effects, SweetFX seems to be a more FPS friendly solution. Was for me in this game anyway.

Once you've seen the game at 4k resolution, there is no going back:

Sorry OP but you're wrong about RealVision. It's the best all the time. During the day it's stunning eye candy.

By the way, this is on a $250 video card.

Your pics just demonstrate my beef with every ENB preset I've tried. The shadow detail (and FPS) gets crushed. Show me your frame rate at 4k resolution with both texture and mesh HD overhauls. You'll be lucky to get out of the 30's unless you have the best GPU available. Here is Whiterun at 4k with no preset - shadow detail looks more appropriate for daytime IMO. Look at how the textures pop. Looks even better before jpg compression, but the screenshots are 32 mb each.

And by the way, you do know that you can edit your posts so you don't have to double post. Bad forum etiquette m8.
