Oblivion, intermittent CTD

I'm not one for asking for help lol, but anyway. I'm having CTD when I enter immediately after loading a new area. It's semi rare and if I keep trying it wont crash, but its driving me insane lol. The last thing i installed was Marts Monster Mod and FCOM (as I also have Oscuros Oblivion Overhaul) .

 

I have many other mods loading as well, but none that effect spawns or leveled lists (I don't think anyway). I also have all DLCs, the other major mods I have are Deadly Reflex, midas Spells, better cities, Unique landscapes. I have fully updated all the mods I have. Fully patched Oblivion. I also have latest OBSE, OBMM, and Unofficial Oblivion Patch and UOP for Shivering Isles. if need be i can type out exactly all my mods. Most of the rest are companion, armor, weapons, and DB and Vampire mods.

 

My PC is a year old, but still is really good. I can also tell my specs if need be. But i have played oblivion max settings with Qarls Textures and with several mods like All Natural and Natural vegetation on windowed mode w/o stutter. So I doubt that's the issue.

 

Also a smaller issue I haven't decided to tackle yet, but still is annoying. My message for Shivering Isles (the one saying of a strange door in Niben Bay) never appeared. Again, I don't know what mod could cause that, maybe Alternative Start by Robert Evrae..? I doubt it though.

 

Thanks if someone could help me with one of the problems, though the CTD is my biggest annoyance.

Just for future reference - first step when you have a problem such as this, completely remove the mods you've recently installed (the ones that may have caused the problem) and see if the problem is fixed. This means disabling the .esp and removing all related files from your data folder; if the problem persists, and your modlist is the same as it was before the problem started, one of the mods conflicted with another mod and overwrote something from another mod. Reinstall other mods to ensure anything overwritten is replaced and load to a save from before the problem started. If all else fails, reinstall.

As for not getting the message about the Shivering Isles expansion, I had this problem for a while. Just make sure the .esp is enabled, start a clean save, and wait two days. If you still don't get the message, I suspect another confliction.

Okay, I found the problem, it was my bashed patch was merging something that was deactivated by accident. I rebuilt the patch with wrye bash, and re downloaded FCOM & MMM, OMOD versions and reinstalled them. Its working now. As for the SI problem, I still haven't found the cause, but I tried the clean save, to no avail. But something like that is easily resolved I believe. I'll go mess around with my Mod order, see what could be causing the issue, and make myself a little fix.

 

Btw, thank you Osteoporozis. I swear, whenever I'm stuck on anything, It's always the simple obvious solutions under my nose that solve it.
