Damian666xx
I've recently reinstalled oblivion, and it won't work. It gets halfway through the 'bethesda' part and then CTD. Any help would be appreciated :)
Damian666xx
I've tried completely deleting everything from the oblivion folder, running as administrator, etc, all of which do not work.
Meoix
What Operation System do you have? If it's Vista or Windows 7, try installing in a folder different then the 'C:\Program Files' Folder. Otherwise, if that doesn't work, try updating your graphics card. You could also try to change the video settings, try minimizing all graphic settings as low as possible to see if that's causing the issue. Hopefully one of those suggestions may help. Do they require additional master files? Do you need to tweak their INI files in order for the mods to load or work? What is your load order? Does this happen just with unmodded vanilla Oblivion? Uninstall EVERY PART of your Oblivion game through control panel. Delete EVERY SINGLE FILE RELATED TO IT AFTER UNINSTALL. DO THIS MANUALLYby going into the folders and getting rid of everything. DO NOT trust the windows uninstall process to clean it up, as it does not always work. Reinstall it to: C:\Games\Oblivion. You will need to create the Games folder under your C drive. If you cannot do this, or do not have Administrative rights to your C drive in order to do it, then you cannot play the game on your machine. you MUST HAVE Administrative rights to create a folder under the C drive, and you must have these rights to run a game such as Oblivion. Once you have done this, start the game WITHOUT ANY MODS. Make sure it works. If it does, add one mod at a time until it does not. If it does not work on a vanilla install (vanilla = no mods) then get back to me, preferably via PM and NOT here. I will try and help you out. Things to check: -Mod requirements (especially master files.) -Mod conflicts (not the sort "reported" by OBMM, as 90% can be ignored, but true conflicts arising from knowledge of what your mods do and what they change.) -System requirements. Thinking you can run this game on the minimum requirements, or use a dll file to "trick" it into thinking your GPU (graphics/video card) is better than it is, WILL NOT work for you. Please do not believe posts claiming otherwise. The game might be fooled into thinking your specs are better than they are, but it still will not be a stable game on low end, built-in graphics cards. Hope this helps.
