Pronam
I got new vegas off the steam deal and within the first 10 minutes of playing I couldn't resist making a mod. I'm going to make a buy-able home for goodsprings and I was wondering what would be best to do.If the home itself would have to be paid for or not (there are empty/non interior homes with no owners so I could just as well 'take one' as the player like that mod gives you a free home after a quest) and what a decent price would be for a starting character?Megaton-styled from F3 I'll add some upgrades, so it'll gradually look like any current house mods have from the start. Any suggestions for the price for a workbench/containers/etc? The reason I asked this as I literally played but a short bit of time, have no idea of how quickly money is earned and what would be fitting/affordable :P. FYI - at the moment it'll be a personal mod//not uploaded, so please don't trash this with 'there are 40 mods of this already'. However, if there's some upgradeable home in goodsprings already, please point me to it!
st4rdog
I don't think I made much over 6000 in my playthrough, although I had over 2000/3000 most of the time. This was with buying every caravan card I came across, and ammo.
Zephyr2011
If your home is completely furnished (ie: lots of safestorage, workbench, reload bench and the other wonderful things) I'd suggest a price of 5000 caps. This is not horribly difficult to manage given how high priced guns can be. If you do it properly you could get about that much from part of the main quest line when you go to Primm if you sell all of the convicts' gear. Additionally 5000 isnt horribly easy for a starting character either. You'd have to save for it some what, you'd have to want that house if you were to actually get the caps for the house and you coudn't get distracted by every shiny new gun and dusty playing card that you see or youd be hoevering around the 1000 mark until you made it to freeside and the strip where you can start rolling in the big bucks. If the house is unfurnished and upgradeable I would suggest 1500-2000 caps (the higher end if there's actually a bed and a little storage) with upgrades costing around 500 (and there being several like fridge, decorations, dining area, weapon storage, armor/clothes storage, work bench, reload bench etc.) That's a pretty good price as a new character hovers around 1000 caps (at least mine all have) and it wouldn't take a whole lot of saving o make the initial price and it would just take sacrificing some extra ammo, a new gun or more caravan cards every once in awhile to get a new upgrade. Of course this is again for starter characters if you ever intend to make a home for higher leveled characters make it at least 10,000 if it comes fully upgraded and 5,000 if it doesn't with upgrades 750-1000. Pronam
Thanks ;), I can build on from this. It's for low level-chars. Depending on the time I'll also put in system where at a higher level you have to pay more (but also get a tiny bit more.).
