MODDING CHALLENGE 2

Hello again,

This week again, I've come up with a challenging mod which I think would add a certain depth to Fallout:New Vegas.

 

The Idea

After finishing the game, modding and replaying New Vegas to hell, I thought a new combat system could be implemented, so as to improve (at least in my opinion) the game-play drastically, perhaps adding a touch of realism to the game too.

 

A cover system, where walls, low lying barricades and other environment assets can be used as (you guessed it) cover!

Rainbow Six: Vegas 1&2, Mass Effect 1&2, Gears of War 1&2 and Red Faction: Guerrilla are examples of games with cover systems.

Even if the system was restricted to a small area, perhaps a "Tactical Warfare Arena" or the like, it'd still be something I'd love to see.

*Weapon damages and Armour protection values would need to be modified.

*Silencing, bullet type (explosive, hollow-point, full-metal jacket etc.) and scope/iron sight aspects would need to be considered. (Only because a 100 mile sniper-scope or noob-tubes are not *really* recommended for hostage situations).

*Small quests could be included, such as save the hostage (this is where bullet penetration [or over-penetration] could be considered).

*Make a use for C4: I'd like to be able to blow up a door ;D .

*Simple achievement/rewards for afore mentioned quests or, for example 100% head shots or not taking any hits.

*As always, lore friendly and companion support (though the latter not necessary).

*Blind-fire would be nice too. (See 1:47 in the attached youtube vid)

 

Good luck! I know its a big ask, though it'd be amazing to see such a system implemented.

If anyone has any extra ideas, feel free to post replies.
