But if they didn't have the creation kit or the feature to implement mods at all then the game would've died years ago. Look how there's still 50k+ daily players. Vanilla game would've been done, So in a way this community is what keeps their sales.

How can you circumvent Steam?

I bought the DVD for Skyrim but I can't play the game if I don't go through Steam.

It's a bit insane.

You can not circumvent syeam to play skyrim but you CAN circumvent steam to mod your game - now Beth just needs to tie their toolkits to steam to make outside mod downloads not authorized

Well well, this is a surprising turn of events. Though after the drama of the last few days, not an unwelcome one. Hopefully we can close this chapter of the modding community's history. Not to forget, but to try and move on. and if possible, to heal.

I'm glad that Valve and Bethesda decided to take the paid mods down as well. It's been an ugly few days, no matter where you stood on the issue.
