badpeoplesuck
It's been months since I have been back to modding Skyrim due to constant crashing. With LOOT and the Memory Patch, is Skyrim stable now to actually mod with a few mods? I mean I read people play with nearly 200 mods. Don't understand how. walshy71
Even after LOOT has done it's thing you'll need to manipulate your load order manually to get things working, Skyrim as a console game port is inherently unstable in the first place. But it is doable, with the help of either the Memory patch and the ENBoost or a full ENB you can make Skyrim more stable than it would be without. But it will need a lot tweaking of individual esp's to achieve it. I usually get two to three days gameplay and then encounter a random ctd. But you could get that with an un-modded Skyrim as well. I have 260 active esp's and esm's, listed in Mod Organiser, some of those are dummy esp's and not needed by Mod Organiser to operate for example Brawl Bug Plugin fix. Apart from the very very rare ctd my game is as stable as I can make it now.
Shubal
Add ENBoost and a script cleaner to your list and you can bullet proof Skyrim. I've got 241 plugins and about 125 more textures, SKSE plugins. geegaws and whatchamacallits mods not using plugins active. Time to learn to merge. Working very well despite some long load times. vram1974
I quit for the same reason and went off to play Oblivion and Fallout: New Vegas for a while but I came back after a while. Oblivion was even worse for crashes. My second time through modded Skyrim I actually did a lot of RTFMing and it helps a lot. Follow the STEP guide, install all the anti-crash stuff you can, and sort your load order properly. Make use of TES5Edit for stuff that conflicts with other mods. And use save game script cleaner religiously. I currently run a 224-modded Skyrim and I very rarely crash anymore. When I do crash I check the papyrus log and either uninstall the mod that's causing the problem, find a patch, or use TES5edit to delete the conflict. notmyhome
As long as you're careful about what mods you pick, yes. New modders who don't yet know about dirty edits, navmesh and scripting can still make your game a mess.
