Alehazar
Situation: Ostagar, the Korcari Wilds. Ser Jory, Daveth and my [pre-] Warden have to gather three vials of Darkspawn blood -and recover the Grey Warden treaties- with the aid of Alistair. Daveth is set to be a ranged character, while my Rogue Warden favours the bow as well for this part of the game. Together they pick off any Darkspawn that are at long range. Alistair and Jory work in tandem, attacking any Darkspawn that get within short range and threaten the archers. Now we've cleared our way to the last couple of Darkspawn -the ones that keep us from the Grey Warden Cache. Daveth and the soon-to-be Warden make their way from Gazarath's ashes to the small precipice that lets them target the two Hurlock archers. A third Hurlock, favoring melee combat, makes his way to them, but is turned into a pin-cushion before long. Only two enemies remain, a Hurlock and a Hurlock Alpha, both melee fighters. I set up the team directly opposite the remaining Darkspawn, with direct visual contact, but still not within combat range. Daveth targets the Alpha, as does Ser Jory, moving in with a Pommel Strike. My [pre-]Warden targets the other Hurlock and Alistair is sent to intercept this one. While I'm controlling my Player Character, I can see the skirmish in the distance and apparently both Alistair and his adversary time their Shield Bash to coincide so perfectly that they both get knocked down.I didn't know whether to succumb to uncontrollable laughter or to a sense of pervasive sadness because I failed to capture this moment with a screenie or a tiny movie clip. Never happened to me before in all my playthroughs. P.S.: also noteworthy: when my [not yet] Warden walked up the ramp between the King's and Loghain's tent, I watched how all the fighters listening to the one soldier explaining stuff about Darkspawn, we're idling in perfect unison, like some demented minimalistic dance troupe -would've made a nice animated GIF, but I missed it.
